I love using file storage for cases where a database doesn't make more sense, and lately those cases are widening.

@skryking Taskwarrior. taskwarrior.org/, Taskwarrior is a fantastic TODO manager. Entire data store is 4 files:

I would hazard a guess all of those are backed by a database, the reason I like file data store is that I have more tools for working with files, and it "feels" more lightweight. Of course databases are appropriate most of time.

@timcase I tend to prefer a simple checklist in evernote...so I guess that could be called a file format.
