#bloomscrolling am #klexenhaus, die "ich schmeiß euch mit Blumenbildern zu" - Saison hat definitiv nun wieder begonnen. Da kommt noch mehr. Viel mehr.
@Heliograph Agreed! It really is adorable. @Nead invented it and it is my new favourite hashtag. It's up there with #Bloomscrolling and #LichenSubscribe for cleansing the timeline in these times.
Bird Cherry, Vogelkirsche. (Prunus avium)
Named for birds that spread its seeds — they love its small, dark fruits.
Its early blossoms provide rich nectar for bees, making it valuable for honey production.
In some regions, branches are used as Barbarazweige — cut on St. Barbara’s Day (Dec 4) and placed indoors to bloom at Christmas.
The word cherry goes back to Ancient Greek kerasos, via Latin cerasum — root of Kirsche, cerise, cherry.
Happy #Friday. Despite the unseasonably warmth, our camellias are still looking fabulous.

Bit overcast today so here's some sunny #bloomscrolling from yesterday
The penis cactus is suddenly in bloom!
I am very proud of him.
He just wants to lay like this, he isn't toppled over.

I'm so looking forward to the annual crabapple bloom at The Arb. And the magnolias, redbuds, rhododendrons, daylilies, tulips, etc. Here are some flower photos I took there during early May 2021. The first shot with the bumblebee was with my Fuji xf80mmf2.8 macro, the second is the xf35mmf2, and the others with the xf23mmf1.4. All of my favorite prime lenses of all time.
