That was not so for my lappy. Initially i had to kinda sorta use a "wrong" version d/l from AD for a <a href="https://venera.social/search?tag=RHEL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RHEL</a> system, & hope i would not break something. It worked, but always left me feeling vulnerable. One day i thought to check <a href="https://venera.social/search?tag=Flathub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Flathub</a> & found it there, so changed to that method, which til now was fine.Every now & then i aspire to replace it with some proper <a href="https://venera.social/search?tag=FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FOSS</a> pkg [yet not lose any functionality important to me]. A few times i have tried <a href="https://venera.social/search?tag=KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#KDE</a>'s <a href="https://venera.social/search?tag=KRDC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#KRDC</a> & <a href="https://venera.social/search?tag=Krfb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Krfb</a>, but every time i fall at the first hurdle. I have no understanding at all of how to actually establish the connection between tower & lappy. The instructions seem written by someone, for a target audience, where both parties already smugly know how to use the software & decided to torment putative new users who know nothing about networking, by being deliberately opaque & cryptic. Maybe, hopefully, this software works fabulously in practice, but that's useless for me unless i can actually create connections. In that sense both TV & AD are light years ahead for non-network-specialist users.

I started using the freerdp command aliased with all switches to "rdp" - but there are times this also feels a bit janky.<a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/remmina" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#remmina</a> seems dated, <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/connections" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#connections</a> is too simplistichave I missed anything good?
