Varvara Stepanova, flyer for "The Death of Tarelkin", 1922.

Often mentioned only alongside her husband, Alexander Rodchenko, Stepanova was an accomplished artist in her own right. Along with this flyer, she also designed the sets for the production. While it’s not known if she designed the costumes for this production, the image is very similar to the geometric clothing she created for other plays.

In order to welcome @Photosaurus on Mastodon, I'm sharing our last collab last November with this pic I love so much ! Also 2 detail shots of the leather belt accessories (details in ALT description). The goal was to represent what could be a vampire crossing the ages and slowly adapting her wardrobe (we also did a victorian and modern era version but I prefer the medieval one^^). #fantasy #photomonday #vampire #portrait #leathercraft #costumedesign

"Wicked" costume designer Paul Tazewell is the first Black man to win an Oscar in this category. He told the press:

“This is the pinnacle of my career. I've been doing costumes for over 35 years. The whole way through there was never a Black male designer that I saw that I could follow, that I could see as inspiration. To realize that that's actually me, it became a 'Wizard of Oz' moment, there's no place like home. To come back to the inspiration being inside of me is really remarkable.”

Recently I shared some design explorations for the "Techmages" with you! During experimenting with their look, the topic of how they'd want to hide their faces came up. So here are some options and variations for masks and headgear! :)

Boosting my commissions. Sure, Orctober is done and dusted, but did you know that I take commissions all year? And especially since I dropped [GARBLED REMIX SOUNDS] dollars on a new monitor, I will definitely need to recoup that expense.

Head over to comms.zeiroslion.art for prices, terms of service, and submission forms If you have questions, feel free to comment or DM me. I'll be more than happy to answer them and help you determine is a Zeiros Lion commission is right for you!

I wouldn't be surprised if Atlus makes a whole dang franchise out of the Metaphor Re Fantazio name. As such, I also wouldn't be surprised if they revisit characters from the original game. So here's my take on a grown-up Maria, setting out on her own adventure.

My last reboosts re: the overthrow of #Queen Lili’uokalani of #Hawaii for #sugar by the #US underscore part of the reason why I believe #WakandaForever is a great #movie as it explicitly calls out "resources" as a primary motivation why #colonial and #imperial powers can never be trusted.

Along with its #cinematography, #score, #SetDesign, #CostumeDesign, and story of many forms and expressions of #grief, it's a #superhero #film that is absolutely #cinema, #Marty, et. al 🖕🏿

#Bales2023FilmChallenge June 10: A main character wears a cape for #SupermanWeek

Capes, cloaks, and mantles are everywhere in Dieterle and Reinhardt's lavishly outfitted A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935). The dreamlike #CostumeDesign by #MaxRée and the uncredited #MiloAnderson is as much as a personality as #Shakespeare's characters are. Any reports of Kenneth Anger's presence as the Changeling Prince are greatly exaggerated.
