marqle<p>Recently, I've been watching two generations of <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/drwho" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>drwho</span></a> concurrently.</p><p>I'm on <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/jonpertwee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jonpertwee</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/christophereccleston" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>christophereccleston</span></a> and it's making it very clear what's missing in the recent versions.</p><p>There are two key things. <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/action" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>action</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/vulnerability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vulnerability</span></a>.</p><p>Pertween and Eccleston were adventurous and the shows were action packed.</p><p>The newest doctors are invulnerable and wise and that makes them boring.</p><p>This crept in with <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/mattsmith" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mattsmith</span></a> and it's gradually gotten worse ever since.</p><p>The sad thing is, I see a lot of opinions for improving it based on weird <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/demographic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>demographic</span></a> theories and it seems like the producers are listening to this nonsense.</p><p>The drwho series I'm watching were brilliant but the new series isn't and that's not <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/nostalgia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nostalgia</span></a>.</p><p><a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/tv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tv</span></a> <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/scifi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>scifi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/bbc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bbc</span></a></p>
