'People who eat more meals with others tend to be more satisfied with their lives and are more likely to express positive emotions, according to a study published in the annual World Happiness Report. According to the finding’s authors, sharing meals is as predictive of happiness as income or employment status — across ages, genders, countries, cultures, and religions.'

In the spirit of sharing what you love I give you the second greatest #cook #book in the world; The Flavour Thesaurus by Niki Segnit. This wondrous book documents flavour pairings that complement one another. It's all black on white text. (No sumptuous pictures of recipes prepared by professional food stylists to make you feel a failure when your effort does not match.) In fact, there are not really any "proper" recipes. But if you love #cooking and #eating it is bursting with ideas.

woke up listening to old episode of herphighlights, and they're explaining massive changes a snake's body goes through to digest a huge meal, including:

* Oxygen consumption can increase by as much as 44 times. Similar to the difference between a horse at rest and a horse at full gallop.

* Stomach ph drops from 7 to 1. (Snakes maintain near-neutral stomach ph when not digesting)

More than half of 23-year-olds in a European study show restrictive, emotional or uncontrolled #eating behaviours, according to new research led by the Institute of #Psychiatry, #Psychology & #Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London. Structural #brain differences appear to play a role in the development of these eating habits.
