What's funny is that again, even with our home PiHole (which has somewhat lax blocking for seamless internet browsing to any normie connected) got the malicious domain (mailchimp-sso .com) blocked

Worryingly, I've had the Pi-Hole docker container setup for less than 24 hours and already 450 blocked requests. This is only with the basic list supplied.

A few days ago home internet started acting funny.
At first I blamed my ISP, than #PiHole that runs on my #RaspberryPi, but none turned out to be the reason. The reason was this UPS that powers my main WiFi router base.
When I pulled the plug out of the UPS I found a cable in quite a miserable state as you can see.
Having examined further I found that a small zener diode got shorted.
Replaced it with the one with a higher voltage rating and it's back to work as expected.

Upgraded all four of my pihole instances to v6. They’re working perfectly!
I love how a bunch of the “advanced” settings are now available from the UI. It makes initial set up so much easier.
And of course, if it’s not the router it must be the DNS…#PiHole trouble. Might be time to schedule an occasional restart.

Ich habe 2 #pihole Instanzen im Netz laufen.
Denen habe ich lokale DNS-Einträge für einen existierenden DNS record eingetragen.
Frage ich die Server direkt, bekomme ich auch die (lokale) IP zurück.
Frage ich die #FritzBox, die diese beiden Pihole-Instanzen als Upstream konfiguriert hat, bekomme ich ein "Unknown host" zurück.
Warum?

it's blocking 20% of queries, many of which are my oculus quest 2 pinging Facebook every 10 seconds despite having been "off" for weeks
ad blockers work great in a browser, but it feels great to have this additional layer of privacy
@lxs I am currently only using https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/master/hosts list. However, I have had to manually add things to both the white list and the block list for specific things in our house. There used to be a whole bunch of lists that came with pi-hole by default.. but many have slowly died off. #pihole
