It was a real pleasure to chat with Jack Tame on Q+A about why now is the time to think seriously about reducing our reliance on US tech companies and what to make of Elon Musk’s alliance with Donald Trump.

He hosts a great programme and I was really happy to be invited on.

'Right-wing cable channel Newsmax defamed Dominion Voting Systems by falsely reporting that the company was involved in rigging the 2020 presidential election, a Delaware judge ruled Wednesday.

Damages will be decided by a jury in a trial that will begin April 28 unless a settlement is reached. Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion. The jury has to determine if Newsmax acted with actual malice.'

Fantastic advocacy work by @walk_sydney on reforming the NSW Roads Act, so our streets are for people and not just cars: walksydney.substack.com/p/refo #auspol #nswpol #politics #urbanism

"We want a Roads Act that guarantees freedom to move — especially for children, older adults, people with disabilities, and everyone in between. That means recognising walking as a fundamental right and delivering streets that are safe, inclusive, and accessible.

"We also made the case for a Commissioner for safe and inclusive streets — someone with real power to hold road authorities accountable, require crossings and footpaths, and ensure safety is never compromised.

"The Roads Act Review is a chance to reimagine how our streets serve people. We’re optimistic and we’ll keep pushing to make sure this opportunity delivers real, lasting change."
