George Ellenburg (he/him/his)I wish there was an <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/app" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#app</a> (#Windows) that I could set as my <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/default" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#default</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/browser" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#browser</a>.<br><br>And all it did was let me choose which browser I wanted to open a link in.<br><br>I have <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/edge" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Edge</a> as my default browser. But I don't use Edge as my default browser.<br><br>In fact, I often have Edge, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/firefox" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Firefox</a>, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/vivaldi" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Vivaldi</a>, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/brave" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Brave</a>, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/chrome" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Chrome</a>, and <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/opera" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Opera</a> all open to different <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/websites" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#websites</a>.<br><br>Some browsers even have multiple <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/profiles" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#profiles</a> that I routinely use.<br><br>I believe in compartmentalization. <br><br>It also helps me keep focus.<br><br>But if I click on a <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/link" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#link</a> in <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/email" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Email</a> it goes to whatever profile is in the foreground on Edge which is 99% not the one I want.<br><br>Most of the time I do remember to just copy the URL to the clipboard and paste it directly.<br><br>But if only there was an app.<br><br>That could <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/intercept" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#intercept</a> all <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/url" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#URL</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/clicks" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#clicks</a>.<br><br>And all it did was <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/ask" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ask</a> me which <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/browser" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#browser</a>/ <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/application" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#application</a> do I want to <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/open" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#open</a> that <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/url" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#URL</a> in?<br><br>(And maybe <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/strip" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#strip</a> out any <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/tracking" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#tracking</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/tags" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#tags</a> and maybe <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/expand" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#expand</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/short" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#short</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bofh.social/tag/urls" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#URLs</a> into to their original long one's.)<br><br>I think something like that would be very useful not just to me but to a lot of people actually.<br><br>Oh well.<br><br>I can wish.
