Some new #FoodPlant #seeds have arrived

Transplanted some of my #BokChoy & purple #tomatillo plants into larger pots. These starters are all being picked up this weekend by a few of my regular plant buyers here. There's some folks who get plants from me, every year

Beau took me to the NIWRA, today. We had lots of fun, walking in the rain & seeing all the #wildlife living there.

North Island Wildlife Recovery Association #NIWRA is a #nonprofit, world-class #rehabilitation facility situated on 8 acres of immaculately manicured grounds, caring for #animals with all types of needs, including birds with broken wings, orphaned black bears, electrocuted eagles and much more!

NIWRA’s main goals are to:
#Reintroduce as many animals back to the wild as possible.
#Educate the public about wildlife and environmental issues.

#Stzuminus #FirstNation territory stretches over 1,200 hectares which includes four reserves; Say-la-quas 10, Squaw-hay-one 11, Oyster Bay 12, and Chemainus 13.
Stz’uminus First Nation members speak Hul’qumi’num.
The Stzʼuminus are well-known for their war canoes. The vessels can range from 19 to 52 feet long. They are made of cedar and hand carved.

Cookeilidh has been delighting audiences for over 15 years with their high energy traditional, and modernized Celtic tunes. Comprised of 12-string guitar, electric bass, Irish flute, fiddle, bodhran, and vocals, they weave their own special blend of Trad with Attitude, Celtic Craic, and Pot O' Gold Folk!

Mixing the tunes of #Ireland and #Scotland, with a heaping spoonful of #Maritime flavour, and a dash of #Folk is their recipe for a modern day kitchen party!

Me & the lighting crew were the last ones to clock out. I was always the last crew to leave sets because I was also the locations manager. We goofed around with wigs & accessories props from my costumes tickle trunk. I provided several props for the production filming from my own personal collections.
I was on contract with Less Bland Productions in #VictoriaBC at the time.

A beautiful moss covered Western red #cedar #tree - still unprotected.
Only a human, with a compromised & unwell soul, would be OK killing an elder tree this magnificent. Some things are just plain wrong.

These ancient old growth trees are essential to fighting accelerated #ClimateChange. #OldGrowth ecosystems in our coastal temperate rainforests supports much biodiverse lifeforms. The naturally moist environment helps to lower impacts of wildfires & other natural disasters that have increased as our governments continue to fund & enable more ecocidal projects.

I love interesting tree #bark. These are two very different old growth trees & their unique bark #textures
#Arbutus / #Madrona & Western Red #Cedar.

A lovely unnamed creek, meandering through a coastal temperate #rainforest in the Highlands area of #Wsanec territory. Very few old growth left in this forest; mostly 3rd growth & younger with a few 2nd growth trees mixed in. This is a great area to look for mushrooms.
