Feeling under the weather today, so I woke up, made a #curry for my wife and I, ate it, put away leftovers, and am now returning to bed.

#Soup included a head of #cauliflower, a couple #carrots, an onion, a couple thumbs of #ginger, a can of #coconutmilk, an old #zucchini, and a diced chicken breast. Spinach to serve.

When I cook with meat, I try to aim for a 4:1 veg-to-meat ratio. Here's hoping the ginger helps my throat a bit.

A nourishing bowl of pale curry. It's got a lot of cauliflower going on, with some spinach leaves standing out where they aren't quite submerged.

It's Saturday, so we got our veg & fruit box delivery this morning.

A nice assortment again. I'm not a big fan of fake blueberries, but they'll get used up somehow. Substituted some grapefruit for the #zucchini they'd otherwise have sent. Don't dislike them, just find them to be the most boring of the vegetable kingdom.

Harvest for September 8, 2024.

3 Zucchini, 2 Muncher cucumbers, 2 little melons, and 3 Tangerine, 2 Amish Paste, 1 San Marzano, 9 Flamme tomatoes, and 1 tomatillo.

The smallest melon was good, the other was a bit over ripe and not good. These are the last of the small melons.

Fruits and vegetables displayed for record keeping. There are red and orange tomatoes, light green zucchini, some small netted skin melons, 2 green cucumbers, and one tomatillo in the husk.

Friday, September 6, 2024 harvest. 6 cucumbers, 2 Red Marconi sweet peppers, 1 little *tusk melon, 2 gray zucchini, and a handful of runner beans.

Some of the saved campari tomato seed tomatoes are getting ripe. They taste good!

* rhymes with, realized people probably filter that word because... passive aggressive ellipses and upward thumbs! 🤘

Fruits and vegetables on the lawn, in a photo that was about take 5 because things kept getting added to it and the shadow progressed creating poor lighting. There are cucumbers, squash, peppers, green beans, and a melon that is called a Minnesota Midget which is a small melon similar to a cantaloupe of the *usk melon family. It didn't taste good and a broody hen that was removed from her fake eggs this morning got to eat it.
On the vine tomatoes. There are 9 tomatoes ranging from an almost ripe red to green on the tip of the cluster. The largest is about 45mm in diameter.
One of the new ripe tomatoes before it was eaten. They are from seeds saved from hybrid on the vine greenhouse tomatoes sold commercially.

August 30 harvest. 1 sugar baby watermelon, 2 little musk melons, 2 days of cucumbers and squash were found too.

The watermelon probably could have gone a little longer but it had that texture that it probably wouldn't have got any better tastsing. It was one in the raised bed. The softer of the two musk melons tasted good, the other saved for later.

Harvested fruit and vegetables on the lawn. There is a small round watermelon, 2 small musk melons, 3 Marketer cucumbers, 5 Muncher cucumbers, 1 yellow straight neck squash, and 3 grey zucchini squash.
