Since there's an article from “Future Life Institute” being circulated in the media I want to share this article explaining some of the very frightening ideas behind “longtermism” and their leaders

This is also another great article on the “Effective altruism”, “neoreaction”, “longtermism” dark triad by @davidgerard
@ingemar It really is some weird screwed up version of Christianity. Suffering in the here and now is all fine and dandy as later on there it will be an eternity of bliss. Except with Christianity it was you that got the gig in eternity. With the Longtermists it’s a computer simulation of some other dude floating around in space somewhere. Weird.
@ingemar Futhermore, the idea that the best way to get to their idiot techno nirvana is to give all the money to todays tech bros is stupid on its own terms. Given their supposed long time horizons, spending some time right now to educate all of humanity and alleviate poverty will create a huge talent pool to accelerate us to where they think we should be going. That they prefer to enrich techbro high priests instead shows that the whole of Longtermism is such self serving rot. Bah.
