@thomasfuchs left MSFT almost a year ago after they swapped me from working on a design system I loved working on to working on death march AI bullshit. Full day meetings, demos every week, throwaway demo at end of week and pivot to learning some new tech and needing a new demo by the end of the week. probably the most miserable ~3 months of my time in tech.
@konnorrogers @thomasfuchs every week there’s some amazing AI reveal that’s finally going to be THE killer app that justifies the hype. When this bubble bursts it will be worse than 2001. They’ve been laying off so many people in other parts in order to shift tens of billions into AI. By my calculations the companies succeeding right now are spending about $15 for every $1 in AI revenue
