Wren :bb: :trans_heart:<p>During the February Album Writing Month there are a lot of challenges, prompts, collaboration opportunities and games to help fuel creativity to get some songwriting done. </p><p>I did one that I knew was going to push me WAY out of my comfort zone. I signed up for a four person, a cappella challenge where I was randomly placed with a lyricist and three other vocalists. </p><p>It turned out way better than i possibly could have imagined. While it is a little pitchy in places, it's still quite beautiful. It sounds like a church hymn. Well, that is if your sacred space... if your church is out in nature. Can't believe i did it. I think I started at midnight and finished about 1:30am. Torsten Torsten<p>Der FAWM 2025 geht heute leider schon zuende. Ich habe im Verlauf der 28 Februar-Tage 5 Songs/Songskizzen geschrieben, womit ich sehr zufrieden bin.<br>Für meinen letzten Song-Entwurf habe ich mich heute in eine leichte Hypnose versetzt. I'm kinda surprised how well this turned out considering I recorded it in about five hours and I don't ever use such a distorted guitar. Also my voice sucks. I know. I was getting tired and it was feeling strained plus singing is hard. After recording, I spent another hour or so tweaking the mix.

I wish I had drums. Well i *have* drums I just don't have them at home. Arrrgh. Where's Carter Beauford when you need him.

Anyway... here it is! Tah dahhhh!!!

So it's four days later and I now think this *will* be my last #FAWM, because the slop issue is insurmountable. FAWM does not have the resources to enforce its AI statement, and presumably none of the mods signed up to be the AI police, so predictions that future FAWMSs will devolve into all-slop, all the time are likely to come true. So what would be a good alternative?

Over on the #FAWM forums, there are more threads about AI and the tone is very different even from last summer - AI within FAWM is always a contentious topic, but more people are expressing dismay at encountering generated songs, explaining how discouraging it is, and predicting that FAWM will be overrun with slop and become unusable in the next few years.
I'm not going to link any of the conversations, because it is in the nature of FAWM websites to disappear, but I will say a few things.

I'm all over the place this #FAWM, but I think I am finally finding my musical creativity again. Allowing myself to do whatever I want was definitely a very good idea.
