@postmarketOS omg!!

I was excited to hear the features, then disappointed to hear it's backed by proprietary libraries from #Gboard, but then excited again to learn this demonstrates the ability to run stuff from #LineageOS and its forks/ancestors without having to run a full-blown emulator! And not a normal app but a integrated subsystem no less 😮

If #postmarketOS were human, this would be a true #cyborg (in a good way) :postmarketos:

#consumoResponsable

We need a free/libre fork of #Android for the public commons. Google cannot be trusted.

Maybe that could be #lineageos or #Graphene, but given that they build on top of Android rather than driving the core development, I'm not certain they would be enough as it stands.

Calling using #LineageOS be like:

1. You take the phone. Unlock it. Start Fossify dialer (because AOSP dialer is too broken to be used). The phone reboots.
2. You wait till it asks for PIN. You type the PIN in.
3. You wait till it starts. Then you turn the screen off, since you need to wait for SIM card to reboot too.
4. You take the phone. It turns out it turned itself off.
5. You start it again. Wait for PIN input. Input PIN.
6. You wait for it to boot. Turn the screen off.
7. You take the phone again. Turns out SIM card didn't reboot yet.
8. You wait some more. Finally, you can call!

Dzwonienie przy pomocy z #LineageOS be like:

1. Bierzesz telefon do ręki. Odblokowujesz go. Uruchamiasz aplikację do dzwonienia (Fossify, bo standardowa się sypie). Telefon się restartuje.
2. Czekasz, aż telefon zapyta o PIN. Wprowadzasz PIN.
3. Czekasz, aż telefon się uruchomi. Następnie wyłączasz ekran, bo i tak musisz zaczekać, aż karta SIM zacznie działać.
4. Bierzesz telefon do ręki. Okazuje się, że się wyłączył.
5. Uruchamiasz go jeszcze raz. Czekasz, aż zapyta o PIN. Wprowadzasz PIN.
6. Czekasz, aż telefon się uruchomi. Wyłączasz ekran.
7. Bierzesz telefon do ręki. Karta SIM dalej nie działa.
8. Czekasz. W końcu możesz zadzwonić!

The best way to check if your current network provider (carrier) supports your 'phone/OS is to check for provisioning.

1. open your dialler
2. type *#*#4636#*#*
3. check the config options are enabled for:
VoLTE provisioned
WiFi calling provisioned

If you run a custom OS like #lineageos, #calyxos or #grapheneos on your #Android phone, you might risk loosing it and being unable to track it due to the lack of Google Services.
