Madison’s Stacy Harbaugh, also known as DJ Shotski, host of the radio show “Polka Time,” emceed the event. She got the idea for the record-breaking attempt over beers with friends in New Glarus.
“This is important to our state, this is important to our history and our culture and you’re all a part of it with me today,” Harbaugh said to the crowd on Saturday.

Bruce complains about not having enough #polka music after saying he’s got six hours of tunes for this one hour episode 
But I like to be comprehensive, even though we can’t broadcast it all 
When we started in 2006, they doubted whether we would have enough material to keep up a weekly #accordion radio show
Here we are coming on 18 years later now
Realizing I have six hours of potential #accordion tunes and interview material in my #WeirdAlYankovic playlist for tonight’s one-hour @accordionnoir radio episode

Imagine if #WeirdAlYankovic had not released any of his satirical polka medleys over the last 40 years 
Would white Americans have heard any other polkas? 
It might have been a clean slate for some norteño star to cross-over if not for him extending its “white and nerdy” shelf-life
