Today, the plant is closing for the last time, another victim of corporate greed and private equity. Foreign countries aren't destroying American manufacturing — American investors are.

This feels especially important as we are coming into the #Passover season, to speak out for all who have been unjustly incarcerated by the #Fascist administration.

Today In Labor History April 11, 1934: Frank Norman, who had the gall to organize ALL citrus workers in the south, regardless of their race, was kidnapped from his home in Florida and murdered by Ku Klux Klansmen, dressed in local sheriff’s uniforms. Despite overwhelming evidence from the union, the case was swept under the rug by state officials, in the pocket of the citrus bosses. In May, 2018, the Sioux Falls AFL-CIO passed a resolution banning fascists and white supremacists from holding any positions of power in their union. In their resolution, they referenced both the murder of Frank Norman, and the recent murder of Heather Heyer, by white supremacists, in Charlottesville.

PeaceHealth union members overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, WA.
The Service Employees International Union represents more than 900 PeaceHealth employees, including technicians, lab professionals and service workers. The two sides remain far apart on several key issues, including wages and medical leave.
