Thinking about the #CanPL teams I expect to do well this year, and the teams that I hope will do well, and there aren't enough playoff spots for all of them.
Me: (Stepping away from the game to make a snack): hope nothing happens while I'm making snack
Narrator: Something happened.
Forge 1 - Cavalry 0.
Reminder: the first #CanPL game to be televised this season starts shortly on TSN2.
New OneSoccer digs are looking good.
This is cool.
Has #CanMNT ever been the host of an exhibition tourney before?
- For last year's CONCACAF Champions Cup, a lot of people commented that Canadian teams were at a disadvantage because it was during their off-season, while other leagues' regular seasons were already under way.
Just putting it out there that maybe the 3 participating Canadian teams could hold a series of friendlies against each other to get into form.
Kinda late to be asking, but, did anyone go out as a drone for Christmas?
#CanWNT friendly vs South Korea
at noon ET
#CanWNT friendly vs Iceland
today at 1pm ET.
This brass band is a nice touch. What can we do to keep them coming back?
#CanMNT vs Suriname tonight at 7:30pm ET for the second leg of the CONCACAF Nations League quarter final.
IIRC, we're having the same rainy weather as we did a year ago when we lost to Jamaica.
- so this is interesting
Look who's in the top 30 from CONCACAF. Look who's not.
- #CanMNT takes on Suriname tonight at 6:30 PM for the first leg of the first round of the CONCACAF Nation's League elimination stage.
I feel like Canada should have this series easily, but I guess you can never take anything for granted. I wouldn't have bet on Suriname making it to the elimination round, but here we are.
#CanPL final got some good numbers on the weekend.
Note that it's total viewers, not average, but it's still a good showing, far higher than I expected.

Priestman is officially out. I hope Canada Soccer will do as good a job finding a new #CanWNT head coach as they did with Jesse Marsch. They deserve it. As good as they've been, I think there's a lot of untapped potential.
- Next up in the Canadian Soccer calendar is the Concacaf Nations League games vs Suriname starting this weekend.
Unlike the previous 3 #CanMNT matches, these ones are official, not friendlies.
Wonder how this games rank in the hearts and minds of the team's potential audience. One the one hand, they're official, so they should rank higher than friendlies.
On the other hand, Suriname is a bit of a minnow, ranked 136, lower than Canada's lowest FIFA Rank.
post-post season #CanPL thought: it's worse for the league that Valour FC has missed playoffs every year than it is that Cavalry and Forge have been to the finals so often.
Like I said yesterday, as a Forge fan, I always want them to win.
But I get where people are coming from when they say they want to see other teams at the top.
It'd be a miracle if Valour won any hardware next year, but I'll be hoping they're at least one of the teams in the playoffs.
