This #Christmas Eve there are a few not at our table this year. I lost two very very dear pups & brothers in 2024. Their lost is felt, deeply, every day.

I inherited Silo from my brother. No one else would take him (big black #dog). We adopted Zac from the #Atlanta Doggie Pound.

Somehow, these two found me and each other. #Grief brought all three of us together. #Love keeps us together.

I forgot to share this here: last weekend we had a campfire in the backyard with Penelope. She received puppy safe s'mores. It was quite something.

Penelope took her first college visit to UW Madison. She seemed impressed with Camp Randall.

The primary reason she went was to see a neurologist at UW Veterinary Services. Given her new cognitive dysfunction diagnosis, I wanted her to see a neurologist. The conclusion was basically that a combination of cognitive dysfunction, blindness and arthritis are likely causing her symptoms and her current treatment is appropriate unless something changes.

That said, the doctor was floored by how overall healthy she is. She said she got worried when she saw she had a 17 year old Yorkie on her schedule but it was NOTHING like she expected. She said that sometimes she feels like the grim reaper and it was wonderful to be able to give good news.
