Here's another image from my first years of photography back in 2020! Fun fact - it's also my most stolen image :/ I've found it online being sold on everything from pillows to prints to even a real estate listing once. Suppose that's the reality of posting images online to a degree...

This image is of Hope Peak from the famous Three Sisters #Mountain range in #Canmore #Alberta. More in the alt.

Hope Peak from the infamous Three Sisters mountain range in Canmore Alberta. Heavy cloud frames the entire frame creating a frame in the bottom and sides of the peak. A small circular cloud cluster sits above the peak and the background is obscured as well isolating the peak. I wanted to capture all three peaks at sunrise, but, the heavy cloud completely obscured the other peaks, giving me only partial glances at each. As a result, Hope Peak sits alone lit by the early morning light, the only peak to fully show itself.

Slowly increasing the brightness of my lighting so not to spook the badgers.
I was lucky that the 2 babies came out for dinner last night 🦡🥰
Even luckier to get a decent photo with the low light, long exposure and 2x moving targets.
Baby badgers - badglings, badglets, buppies, bittens (?)

I've been feeding a family of badgers through the years.
Recently my trap cam caught 2 youngsters & the mum coming to the garden.
I braved the freezing night air to stand and watch last night, It was so amazing to see, only one turned up but I'll try again tonight, hopefully it'll be a full turn out
The LED worked well to see what's going on

#ThrowbackThursday to one of my favorite images taken on a trip to the #Canadian #RockyMountains back in 2021.

I've re-processed it now, after having lost the original edit. Thankfully I still have the RAW file!

It became a favorite mostly because of the setting I shot it in. A quiet moment in a very busy trip that became a moment to relax mentally and enjoy the evening breeze.

Three layered mountains create and horizon through the middle of the frame. The central mountain is the furthest and lowest, is lightly lit by the still setting sun. The sky, a mixture of stratospheric and low cumulus is lit in brilliant purples and deep blues. The foreground includes a layer of deciduous trees, with a strip of coniferous behind. A true feast of layers!
