Registry to track vacant, unused Montreal properties still not operational a year later
A mandatory registry that was supposed to help tackle the problem of empty, unused buildings in Montreal is still not up and running. There are about 800 such buildings in Montreal — both commercial and residential — in the middle of a housing crisis.

Just moved a #domain away from a #registrar with an absolute inconvenient, some would say straight-up malicious UI design. With every third click you accidentally activate another product you don't even want. Transferring the domain name away from the registrar took me a couple of months due to several broken or missing features in the UI, or illogical customer service decisions. Once, I finally got an authorization code, the UI completely changed, and they tried to sell me a new web-related product with every click.

What baffles me most is that global corporations rather milk their customers with accidental subscriptions, instead of actually focusing on service and usability. Why can't you just do your business, excel at it and outrun competition with competency, instead of malicious design?!

Happy to have closed off my account at this company once and for all.

PS: Don't ask me for the company's name. I won't share it.

Looks like Quay.io is being updated to use Patternfly V5, and I'm a huge fan of the design layout. If you're logged in, you can switch to it at the top of the page with the Current UI/New UI toggle.

Just bear in mind it is a beta, so not every feature/aspect of the original site may be there just yet.

"about:config" is basically a #hidden #settings interface in #Firefox. There are hundreds of settings/configurations that affect all parts of the browser, some in tiny, trivial ways, and others in significant ways. Very few of them are exposed in the UI for the user to adjust.

It's something like the #Registry in Windows.

Fiddling with it can #break your #browser. If you're up for the challenge, a web search will get you started.
