Had a lovely #lunchtime walk with the @druid earlier on.
Nice to see that the #willows are starting to do their thing and adorning the trees with their sparkly bundles of fluffy marvelousness. They remind me of caterpillars with Mohicans.

#Basket season is almost over, though I still have #willows to weave. Starting to root some for future yard plantings. Time to change gears and start #gardening. It’s too cold to plant but there’s lots of cleanup and prep to start with. I see the buds swelling on the lilacs, barely. Garlic is emerging from #winter #mulch. The promise of #green is at the edges of the #OkanoganHighlands. I’m eating #leeks from last year’s #garden, which encourages the effort to grow again.
#ClimateDiary Tonight i participated in what turned out to be a really amazing @RadicalAnthro workshop on Anthropology, Activism and Local Environmental Knowledge. Hopefully the first of many more! Water, rivers, floods and #droughts (and basket making, #willows grass and trees) plus local knowledge were a theme throughout, and Paul Powlesland mentioned #ShiftingBaselineSyndrom - another term to log here on #ClimateDiary
Another day, another #basket. Learning a new style from a YouTube video. Wall Basket. Still getting the hang of “#packing”. This will be a great way to store onions in my pantry. Need to master choosing the right size #willows. These will make nice gifts for other #gardeners.
