Geyersche Binge im Laternenschein
🇩🇪 Seit 1395/1400 fand am Geyersberg vor allem der Abbau von Zinn, Silber und Kupfer statt. 1704 und 1803 kam es zu zwei Zusammenbrüche des Bergwerks, woraufhin dieses geschlossen wurde.
Die Binge ist stellenweise bis zu 60 Meter tief und wurde hier von einer Anhöhe aus Richtung Süden fotografiert.

🇬🇧 Since 1395/1400, tin, silver and copper have been mined at Geyersberg. In 1704 and 1803, the mine collapsed twice and was subsequently closed.
The binge is up to 60 metres deep in places and was photographed here from a hill to the south.

DE: Nächtlicher Blick auf einen großen zerklüfteten Granitbrocken, der als Art Mahnmal aus einem Kessel herausguckt. Von Westen bescheinen Straßenlaternen die Felswand, im Osten beleuchtet der bedeckte Vollmond die Umgebung. Kilometerweit im Hintergrund sind weitere Berge und Orte des Erzgebirges zu entdecken. Durch die fast 4,5 Minuten Belichtung sind die Stern zu Spuren und Wolken zu einer diffusen Fläche verwandelt. Streetlights illuminate the rock face from the west, while the overcast full moon lights up the surroundings in the east. Further mountains and towns in the Ore Mountains can be seen for kilometres in the background. The almost 4.5-minute exposure has turned the stars into trails and the clouds into a diffuse surface.

🇬🇧 The shooting conditions were not ideal, so I'm very happy with the result. The sky was quite cloudy in places and the humidity rose to 96% during the night. And I'm glad I listened to the advice that you should just buy a lens warmer and have it with you.

🇩🇪 Dafür, dass die Aufnahmebedingungen nicht ideal waren, bin ich sehr glücklich über das Ergebnis. Der Himmel war stellenweise recht wolkig und die Luftfeuchtigkeit stieg im Laufe der Nacht auf 96%. Und ich bin froh auf den Rat gehört zu haben, dass man einen Objektivwärmer einfach kaufen und dabei haben sollte.

🇩🇪 Es war das zweite Mal, dass ich Polarlichter am Himmel gesehen habe, und dann war das so eine wundervolle Lichtshow, die stundenlang nicht abriss. Eine absolut magische Nacht!

🇬🇧 It was the second time I've seen an aurora and then it was such a powerful and wonderful light show for hours. An absolutly magical night.

Tanabata (Japanese: たなばた or 七夕, meaning "Evening of the seventh"), also known as the Star Festival (星祭り, Hoshimatsuri), is a Japanese festival originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival. It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar. The date of Tanabata varies by region of the country, but the first festivities begin on 7 July of the Gregorian calendar. The celebration is held at various days between July and August.
